Softonic corporate site.
Softonic.com is one of the internet’s largest platform for apps and software with 80 million monthly unique users. Global Communication Team realizes that the corp site can be more relevant to the Softonic ecosystem and more helpful to our users, customers, and clients. I have been defining the new architecture, new features, and setting design principles for the site.
But the most interesting project I have been involved in the permanent overhauling of the UI/UX of the site in a lean environment and the framework that we built, measure & learn; involving product management, UX research, design, development, and SEO.
After mapping company structure, I did a benchmark study of other similar tech companies corp sites, comparing its structure with our needs, and analyzing the different solutions they have. Then I met with all the critical stakeholders of the new site to understand their needs and compare them with other company solutions. Through collaborative design sessions, we involve anyone from staff, salespeople, product managers, developers, customers (user personas) working collaboratively. It saves a lot of time, costs and gives better results. This is an approach to incorporate a co-creation design philosophy within the whole company. This doesn't mean that design becomes a "group decision". Ideas will always be filtered. It helps to explore potential directions and gathers a wide range of perspectives in the process.
We worked in a fully collaborative way between design and the rest of the departments involved. It was fully necessary to be aligned with the possibilities that we had from a technical point of view.
In this process we achieved a great synergy between design and development, achieving full alignment in the final proposal. To improve the site architecture we focused on reducing complexity.
Working closely design, stakeholders & development saves time, reduces costs, and gives much better results!
